Barend Van den Brande Managing Partner - barend@hummingbird-ventures.com Barend founded Hummingbird Ventures (then called Big Bang Ventures) in 2000. As Managing Partner, Barend oversees all aspects of fund and investment management. He currently serves on the board of directors of Clear2Pay, MMO Life, Wakoopa, Travel Intelligence Group, Cybersports and Shutl. He was a director on the board of DataCenterTechnologies (acquired by Symantec) and Dedigate (acquired by Terremark Inc.). Barend was president of the Benelux Tech Tour 2006-2007. Previously, Barend co-founded SwiftTouch (US). He began his career in the US as a Financial Analyst for SG Cowen in Boston, Massachusetts, focusing on internet and data-networking companies. Barend holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Louvain, Belgium. |

Frank Maene Partner - frank@hummingbird-ventures.com Frank joined Hummingbird Ventures as a Partner in November 2000 during the capital raising process of the team's first fund (then called Big Bang Ventures). Frank currently serves on the board of directors of Amplidata, CicekSepeti, Dacentec, Digitouch and Racktivity. He was the chairman of DataCenterTechnologies (acquired by Symantec) and Q-layer (acquired by Sun Microsystems) and a director on the board of Avinity (acquired by ActiveVideo Networks). Prior to joining Hummingbird Ventures, Frank was CEO of ExpertEyes in Mountain View, CA, where he helped US software companies to expand into Europe. In 1998, he spun off a team of developers from a systems integrator and created Syfact International, acting as its CEO. In 1995, Frank created the Benelux distributor for Gentia Software, which he sold to the mother company in 1997. Prior to Gentia, he worked as Sales Manager for Comshare Belgium/Luxembourg, after starting his career as consultant with the Cap Gemini Group. Frank holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics and Accountancy from the University of Gent, Belgium. |

Pamir Gelenbe Partner - pamir@hummingbird-ventures.com Pamir is a Partner at Hummingbird Ventures and an expert in digital media and e-commerce companies. Pamir serves on the board of Peak Games, MarkaVIP and On Device Research. London-based, Pamir speaks fluent English, Turkish and French. Previously, he co-founded Flytxt, a pioneer in mobile marketing technology in Asia, Europe and the US. Prior to that, he worked at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, D.E.Shaw and Juno Online Services. Pamir received his BS in Electrical Engineering Summa Cum Laude from Duke University and a Master of Science in Operations Research from Columbia University. He led the selection committee of two Web/Mobility Tech Tours and is a Mentor on the London Business School's Entrepreneurship program. Pamir is the founder of the Nubridge Venture Summit, an invitation-only event which brings together Turkey's best Internet entrepreneurs and a number of international investors. |

Firat Ileri Associate - firat@hummingbird-ventures.com Firat joined Hummingbird Ventures as an Associate in 2012. He is based in Istanbul. Previously, he worked at J.P. Morgan at the Emerging Markets Structuring and Solutions group where he developed and marketed investment products as well as liability management and financing solutions for financial institutions and corporates in Emerging markets, particularly Middle East, Turkey, Sub-Saharan Africa, Russia and CIS region. Prior to that, he worked at Manufacturing and Productivity Laboratory at MIT and Lycos. He received B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Management Science and a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. |
